When: Monday, March 2 2020

Where: The Mist (Oakridge Elem)

A lot of times after races I feel like I didn’t push myself hard enough and could have gone faster. But why don’t I? I definitely think I get in my head about my limits, my breath and any pain and hold myself back. One of my new favorite books/audio books is “Can’t Hurt Me” by former Navy Seal turned ultra runner, David Goggins. (Also the feature character in the book “Living with a Navy Seal,” also highly recommend.)

One of his big things is that most of us are only living at 40% of our potential. And that our minds have a governor like a car. The car can go up to 130 mph and wants to go, but the factory governor setting limits it to 91 mph. But once you consistently push your mind past that 40% - that’s when change happens. Or something like that. Definitely look it up. :)

The Thang:

we warmed up with some jacks, butt kickers, high knees, low slow squats, Cherry pickers, barn doors.

then here was the workout:

800m at 5k pace

400m recovery pace

10x300m at 90%

100m walking recovery between each interval

Ended with name o Rama, COT and this:

“If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” — Bruce Lee

So go continue to push harder.
